Raccoons are known to be intelligent animals: in fact, a study conducted in 1908 conducted by E.B. Davis noted that raccoons could open 11 out of 13 complex locks within 10 tries. Davis also stated that rearranging the locks and re-orienting them posed NO challenge to the raccoons.
